A psychologist believes in meditation.

I am a very passionate professional psychologist with years of experience. Since childhood the concept of meditation was instill by my father who practice meditation and yoga. He is the first person who told me the importance of meditation, usefulness, how to channelize negative energy into positive one through the process of meditation. He made me believe in the power of meditation. He says “Either do it properly or don’t do it”

As a psychologist we deal with clients on the basis of anger issues, behavioural issues, marital conflict, aggression, stress, anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies etc to name a few, irrespective of class, gender and age. In short, I took a lot of negative energy from my client and in return I gave them positive energy. I advise my client to do meditation for calmness & inner harmony.

Psychologist work is not everyone's cup of tea. It requires understanding, listening skills, empathy, patience and a lot many things. I enjoy each and every day dealing with clients, trying to bring change in their life and my utmost priority is the betterment of my client.

But people tend to forget that "A psychologist is also a human". And they do have their own families and issues to deal with. They also need to relax their mind, regain their positive energy, etc. And the best way to do it is none other than Meditation.

It’s rightly said in Bhagavad Gita “Whatever Happens, Happens for good”. Thus, due to pandemic I got an opportunity to attend webinars on meditation and yoga conducted by Ms Zainab, an amazing & supportive meditation teacher. She cleared many of my doubts, introduced new techniques and my faith and belief became stronger in meditation.

Meditation is not a word for me, it's a feeling, it helps me to get connected and listen to my soul. It helps to balance my inner harmony, keep my mind healthy, happy etc., which is very essential for mental health well-being.

I personally believe meditation and psychology goes hand in hand. Though, the research is still going on.

I would be always grateful to two teachers, my father and Ms Zainab, for introducing meditation, guiding& helping me to reach my potential.

Thank you for reading. I hope it's helpful and motivates you to practice meditation for better life and inner peace.
